Estimates show that anywhere from a quarter to a third of Pakistan’s population lacks access to safe drinking water. Women and children bear the burden of collecting water, which can take up to four hours each day. A heavy pot is carried, on their head, over long distances and through rough terrains. This negatively affects, not only their health and wellbeing, but also economic productivity within communities due to excess time spent to collect water.
